It's too hot for shaggy dogs!

Here on the West Coast we are having record high temperatures - continuous days of 30+ C.

Maybe not so hot for those of you that are used to it but only 8% of the population out here has air conditioning in their homes - we don't have it and NORMALLY we don't need it!

The dogs were looking too hot and bothered in their bulky fur coats.

So we took them to the groomer's last week and got them "sheared".

They may not look too happy about their SHORT haircuts but they are a LOT COOLER!!

This is what happens when your kids are home for the summer with nothing to do!

Snow!

We've had a TON of snow over the last week! Seriously we don't get this much snow in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Sure they get snow up in Whistler and we might have a bit after Christmas or in January but never this much!

Here's a shot of my outdoor fireplace. Check out how much snow is on the chimney cap!

Can you guess what this is? It's Murphy's legs!

The snow sticks to his fur like cotton balls and it's so hard to get off.

He's never seen snow before and you'd think he'd be a bit hesitant about it -

especially the way it sticks to his fur!

BUT NO! He loves it and he's constantly ringing the bell to go out and play in it!

He's a little snow pup for sure!

I had a ton of photos on this card but for some reason most of them are blurry.

The dogs were running around like crazy in the yard this day -

or maybe I'd had too much coffee -

whatever the reason the following were the only ones that were clear enough to post.
